Data Deletion
You have the right to permanently delete your account and the personal data Knight AI+AV LLC holds about you. This page explains how, what gets removed, what we are required to keep, and how long it takes.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1 — From inside NavOrb (recommended)
Open NavOrb on web or mobile and go to Settings → Delete Account. You'll be asked to re-authenticate, then to confirm. Deletion begins immediately on confirmation. This is the fastest option and meets Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v).
Option 2 — By email
If you can't access the app, email Build@knightaiav.com from the email address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll reply to verify it's you, then proceed with deletion.
Option 3 — Authorised agent (California)
California residents may authorise an agent to act on their behalf. Send a signed authorisation along with your request to Build@knightaiav.com. We will verify with you directly before processing.
What Gets Deleted
- Your account record (email, OAuth identity, display name).
- All souls and personality documents you've created.
- All conversations and messages.
- Custom skills, memories, modality preferences, and host bindings.
- Uploaded media in your chats (images and files).
- Any encrypted Bring-Your-Own-Backend (BYOB) API keys you've stored.
- Active sessions (you'll be signed out everywhere).
Voice audio is never stored on Knight AI+AV servers, so there is nothing to delete on our side. (Audio passing through Deepgram for speech-to-text follows Deepgram's own retention policy.)
What We Keep, and Why
- Payment records retained for 7 years — required by US tax and accounting law. We retain the minimum: your Stripe customer ID, invoice records, and subscription state. We do not retain card numbers (we never had them — Stripe Checkout handles all card data).
- Aggregate, fully anonymised analytics. Counts and trends that cannot be tied back to you may persist in our systems indefinitely.
- Information subject to a legal hold. If we are subject to a subpoena, court order, or active dispute that requires preservation of specific records, those records are retained for the duration of the legal hold and deleted thereafter.
- Backups are rolled out within 90 days of live deletion. During that window your data may exist in encrypted backup snapshots that are not actively used; it is purged on the next backup rotation.
Time Commitment
- Live data: within 30 days of a verified deletion request, often the same day.
- Backups: within 90 days of live deletion.
- Payment records: retained for 7 years as described above, then deleted.
Verification
To prevent malicious deletion of someone else's account, we verify deletion requests:
- For in-app deletion, you must re-authenticate before confirmation.
- For email requests, we reply to the address on file and require confirmation.
- For authorised-agent requests, we verify the user directly using the contact details on file.
If we can't verify you within 30 days, we'll let you know and ask for additional information.
For Apple App Store Reviewers
Per Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v), in-app account deletion is available at Settings → Delete Account inside the NavOrb application. The web flow on this page is provided as a fallback for users who no longer have the app installed.
