Capture without compromise

Region, window, and cross-monitor capture through Windows Graphics Capture, with DPI-correct geometry and an HDR-aware color path.

Edit as a document

Crop, arrows, rectangles, text, undo and redo stay editable until export. Safe redaction is rendered opaque into the final pixels.

Read text locally

Windows.Media.Ocr reads the flattened capture on the PC. There is no cloud fallback, hidden download, remote model, or account.

04 Privacy architecture

No backend is the feature.

Snip Wizard is intentionally different from the products being migrated to Firebase. Screen contents, OCR text, edits, and exports stay on the Windows device. Adding a database, login, analytics SDK, or cloud processor would make this product worse, not more complete.

05 Release truth

The product works. Public signing is the remaining boundary.

The native capture, editor, local OCR, privacy, and packaged-development smoke gates are verified on Windows. A public download is not shown yet because the current MSIX is development-signed; the release becomes public only after a trusted production signing path is in place.
